Of course, if a chair presses this button, the time extension must be for all parallel sessions, otherwise synchronization is lost. Hence, this button should be pressed rarely :-). In fact, I agree that the system already induces most speakers to stay within their time limits, but we had a couple of exceptions during the conference; in one of these cases, the session chair decided to sharply stop the speaker, who was unable to conclude in any way. Thanks again. All the best, Beppe and Walter Il 26/03/2012 15:16, Eric Berberich ha scritto: > On 3/26/12 2:58 PM, Walter Didimo wrote: >> Dear Eric, >> >> Thanks for your message. This is indeed a valuable addition to the system and I will work on it, after an important appointment on Wednesday. Should this button be located in the admin interface or in a special "chair interface"? Note that the result of pressing such a bottom will be screened in every other room, too, as this is a conference-wide timer - an effect that is not always wanted. It might be most valuable for keynote presentations. Also, it's not recommended to be able to press the button too often, as this spoils the necessarity of such a system. We have observed that later presenters learn that their speaking time is limited rather quickly (after the first few talks). In fact, it's good to inform them ahead (couple of weeks before the conference) that CoSeSy is used and that they should time the length of their talk. > > But sure, I will considert his button and I'll let you know about the progress. > > Also feel free to advertise the system to your colleagues - in particular during conferences where parallel tracks are highly out of sync ;-) > > Best regards, > > eriC > -- Prof. Walter Didimo Università degli Studi di Perugia Dipartimento di Ingegneria Elettronica e dell'Informazione (DIEI) Via G.
